Sean founded SMC in 2019 as a consultancy for various commercial shipping projects for private interests. At the end of 2020, the company pivoted to a full service commercial manager and projects brokerage for the oil shipping industry.

Sean is a graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy where he majored in Marine Transportation.

Sean has held management positions at Gener8/General Maritime in New York, Teekay Shipping in London and Eiger Shipping SA in Geneva.

Prior to Eiger Shipping, Sean worked as a distillate trader at Lukoil Pan Americas LLC (LPA) . Sean originally joined LPA as a fuel oil operator.
